Neighborhood Watch:

In discussion of NW, Officer Womack reported the following:
Our neighborhood (Hawkins Run) is very good in comparison to other areas of Sanford. Our residents are stable (live in the same place for a long time) which typically results in no major issues.

Tips for Safety:
  1. If you are going to be away from home, contact the Police Department. The police will ride by and check on your house 2 times a day and 2 times at night.
  2. Call the Police. The police cannot fix what they don’t know about.
  3. Solicitors must have a license to knock on your door. Don’t confront the solicitor, just call the police and ask.


National Night Out:

Sam Gaskin, Mayor Pro-Tem and Linda Turberville visited our gathering. Several Detectives, Officers, Firemen and other City Workers came by to visit with our community.

Tricia Hathcock was the Door Prize winner for the NNO Attendees.

If you are out of town and unable to retrieve your trash container, please ask a neighbor to remove it from the road.

Reminder....Large/bulk item trash pick up is on Wednesdays. Items should be placed curbside on Tuesday evening for Wednesday pickup.
